Security -- Where Does Terrorism Rank Among Threats?
In a survey of British security chiefs, terrorism ranked as their least important concern, behind crime, IT security, fraud, and natural disasters, say Rachel Briggs and Charlie Edward, authors of The Business of Resilience in an FT op-ed piece. They describe an office building in lower Manhattan that has 6,000 vaccines stores in case of chemical or bio attack and gas-mask porting security patrols. “Resources better directed at day-to-day threats to corporate security, such as fraud and attacks on information technology systems, are being funneled into a proxy war on terror,” they write. And security chiefs hesitate to speak out for political reasons.

An excellent account of how one bank support staff, customers and community, threw aside the rule book and just kept going. If you’re in banking, this is a fun and useful newsletter worth subscribing to. As you might guess from the title, it leans toward occasional irreverence.
