The History of... Microsoft Windows

I always enjoyed reading history. I like to see how things evolved. Sometimes there are funny stories, sometimes there are sad stories. But there is always something to learn from history. It is sad we don't have the time and physical capacity to learn the entire history of humanity. Now I wonder: oh really, what if we could do that? Would we be smarter in that case? Would this world be a better place? Or maybe there are things hidden in the history that we better don't ever learn about them.

Sorry I got lost – what about the title of this posting?! I came across this [ http://blogs.msdn.com/oldnewthing/category/2282.aspx ] little piece of history about Microsoft Windows and I wanted to thank Raymond for sharing. Nice!
