Josh Gliddon sees some Silverlight

I had Josh Gliddon, IT Editor from the Australian Financial Review, visit last week, after we exchanged a couple of tweets a few weeks earlier.

I've been interviewed many times by Josh, but normally it's been on the phone - so this was going to be a face to face meeting.

I took Josh through a presentation and then I showed him a bunch of demos. I got most of the demos from http://www.silverlight.net and selected some of the samples from the silverlight community gallery, such as

  • Fox Movies Trailer Library
  • Video Library
  • Page Turn
  • Tile Text
  • Sprawl (my personal favourite)
  • Clock
  • Scribbler
  • Chess

I also pointed Josh to a bunch of online resources

I let him know all the sessions from MIX07 are online and streamed using Silverlight

And of course I let him know about ReMIX

I was really champing at the bit to tell him about PopFly.

    Design Surface

Popfly is the fun, easy way to build and share mashups, gadgets, Web pages, and applications.

    Popfly consists of two parts:

    • Popfly Creator is a set of online visual tools for building Web pages and mashups.
    • Popfly Space is an online community of creators where you can host, share, rate, comment and even remix creations from other Popfly users.

Josh - if you want to see PopFly, just give me a tweet.
