Great MEDC Event in Vegas

The Mobile and Embedded Developers Conference was an awesome show, I was very impressed with the quality of planning and execution. My hat is off to James and the whole team. I hope they are getting some rest.

The attendees were a great fit for us in discussing our Mobile PC Applications message. These folks get Mobile, they know the customer needs and they know how to architect the solutions. Mobile device developers have a great opportunity ahead of them as more and more mainstream pc applications and services will require the knowledge and expertise they hold. Anywhere access to data and applications, connected systems and incredible computing power at the client with mobile PCs like the Tablet PC are likely to change the application landscape.

Developers will need to consider new scenarios with their customers out on the go trying to use their applications and access their data.  The user may not be connected to a/c, so power may be a problem, they will not always be connected to corporate or the web, so a robust online/offline strategy must be employed.  Helping developers implement great Mobile PC Applications is our development center at http://msdn.microsoft.com/mobilepc, check it out...

Overall MEDC was a great show and good presence for Tablet, we had our Hands on Labs in process where developers could use a Tablet and walk through a script for developing mobile PC applications using Visual Studio.  Our test drive center was a hit letting folks take Tablets for a test drive sitting on one of those cool bean bag chairs. Our booth was busy too, most attendees wanted to see the new generation hardware and learn more about our development platform. We gave away a couple of Tablets at MEDC which is always fun and our sessions went well and were nicely attended. It was great to see the interest level grow even more from last year. Thanks to all on MPD for making our contribution to MEDC rock…

My brother came out to Las Vegas on the last day of the event for his 40th birthday, we had a blast! What a town, details stay in Vegas…
