.NET Framework Developer Center refresh!

Yesterday we refreshed the .NET Framework Developer Center!

Here’s a few of the highlights…

  • New Top Task control on the home page – Contains shortcuts to the most common tasks (e.g. Get the Framework, Getting Started, etc.)
  • Dynamic Community Content – See what’s going on in the .NET Framework developer community
    • Most active newsgroups threads
    • Top active downloads
    • Top active KB searches
  • New Getting Started page – Everybody’s gotta’ start somewhere, and if you’re new to .NET Framework development, this is where you should start.
  • Simpler TOC!
    • E.g. No more three-level menus for programming content!
      • /netframework/programming -.NET framework programming information
        • /clr  - information on programming the Common Language Runtime (hosting the CLR, information on the Common Language Infrastructure specification, etc.)
        • /bcl  - information on programming the Base Class Libraries (stuff in the System namespace). Especially check-out the FAQs, and BCL team pics & bios!
        • /interoperability – contains information on interoperating w/Win32 DLLs and COM components
  • Welcome the Microsoft Regional Director community! – RDs are recognized leaders of the community. You can find out all about them (e.g. blogs, code samples, etc.) in the RD section.

Take a look around and let me know what you think of the refreshed site!

One bit of information I've been unable to find is a page listing what's new in the .NET Framework 2.0. Any suggestions?

I'd ideally like to see a (big!) page with a comprehensive list of all the new classes, each with a brief (single line) description and a link to its documentation in the Framework reference. It's proving hard to find out what new toys we have to play with! :(
