Using Microsoft FrontPage to do amazing things with SharePoint Products and Technologies

Data Views and linking to the WSS pages that display them

I just posted a new howto article based on a post to the wss public newsgroup.  In FrontPage 2002, if you choose to “layout customize” a CAML list view and change it into a Dropdown form field, it would automatically still link to the proper dispform.asp and editform.asp pages.

In FrontPage 2003, this does not happen automatically.  So check out my article about getting this functionality back.

Let me know of other functionality you miss! I'll see if I know a way to make it happen.

1. A better link for the wss public newsgroup (rather than for wss) would be http://support.microsoft.com/newsgroups/default.aspx?NewsGroup=microsoft.public.sharepoint.windowsservices&SLCID=US&ICP=GSS3&sd=GN&id=fh;en-us;newsgroups

2. It's an odd concept that a blog item refers to another location in the same "person's" blog site. I think this article ought to be the blog and thus visible via the RSS Feed without having to go to another location on your site for it.

1. Thanks for the link suggestion

2. I'll have to think about that. I prefer to have code examples separate from posts...but you make a good point.
