Disable MySite link

It is a common question I get asked all the time “How I can disable MySite link from my MOSS sites till I figure out how to use the MySites”

You can do this by navigating to “Central Administration Page”. Then open the Shared Service Provider. Select  “Personalization services permissions “ link under “User Profiles and MySites”. By default you will see authenticated users listed in there. Click the user group that you want to disable the MySite link and clear the  “Create personal site” check box
