The page cannot be found

We were getting “The page cannot be found” error after installing SharePoint Server 2007 on Win 2003 R2 server. The SharePoint installation completes successfully with out any error messages. But Central Administration pages were not accessible.

The reason for this was IIS had IFilter that redirects user to local C drive as listed below.

URLSCAN

C:\WINDOWS\system32\inetsrv\urlscan\urlscan.dll

  • Strat IIS
  • Right click “web sites” and select properties
  • Access “ISAPI Filters” Tab
  • Make sure its looks like following for SharePoint to work
