Retail and MSDN Direct Promotion Details

Active MSDN Universal subscribers who purchased their subscriptions at retail or direct from MSDN will also be eligible to upgrade their existing subscriptions to Visual Studio 2005 Team System with MSDN Premium Subscription. From December 1, 2005 through June 30, 2006, special retail boxes and online purchases will be available to upgrade existing subscriptions for their remaining term. Customers with expiring MSDN Universal Subscriptions may also renew directly into Visual Studio 2005 Team System during this promotional period.

The following do not qualify for this promotion:

·  Subscriptions obtained through another program (Microsoft Certified Partner Program, ISV Empower, or MSDN Academic Alliance, et. Al.), and

·  Expired subscription licenses.

Customers who purchase a qualifying license during this promotion and step-up to Team System will receive a substantial discount (versus customers who may purchase the full License and Software Assurance SKU for the Visual Studio 2005 Team Suite with MSDN Premium Subscription). 

Microsoft is encouraging field and reseller communities to drive broad awareness in order to prevent qualifying customers from unknowingly purchasing the full License and Software Assurance product during the promotion period.
