One of the benefits of getting near Redmond for things like our Airlift here in Bellevue is you never know who's going to pop in for a visit. Just a little while ago, Jim Allchin (Group Vice President, Platforms) came by and let us all know what's happening with Longhorn.

Personally I think it's a great idea to focus on getting a new desktop OS out the door. They'll be plenty of revolutionary things in Longhorn to marvel at when it comes out.
