About My B20 Life
I work in Building 20 on the Microsoft campus, and Building 20 is where the Platform Adoption Center is located. The PAC is a rather unique place where Microsoft invites forward looking software developers, hardware developers, and IT professionals to see and use new Microsoft technologies for the very first time. Its where .NET, IIS7, and Longhorn were shown to the outside world for the VERY first time. If you have been lucky enough to visit Building 20, you may have been one of the first hundred people in the WORLD to see something cool.

There are only 2 guys from Microsoft that live full time in the PAC and I'm one of them. We host an average of 4 events a week that showcase brand spanking new bits fresh from the product teams. And since B20 is so close to the product teams, the speakers are often the lead developers of those very bits. The information that gets presented here is often the first time its been presented in any form, and I swear, sometimes its even being created on the fly as the attendees and the product teams interact with each other.
The PAC is one of the few places (maybe the only one) where other companies bring their bits to work on with the assistance of the product teams. In most cases these bits have never been seen in the outside world either and are just as interesting as any of the bits that Microsoft creates.
In this blog I try, within the limits of NDAs and general common sense, to report or mention some of the things I see each week. I also get to use some of the technologies and I write about that too.
