Conference SWAG - Whats you're fav?

So our group is getting down to deciding what representation we will have at Tech Ed '05 in Orlando. I'm looking forward to meeting with you folks, I'll probably be hanging around the Cabana, will know for sure in the next couple of days. I'm also the "SWAG" order guy for our group, and I'm trying to decide what to order. I figured out I'll ask you folks, since you're the ones who will be going home with the give-aways... what would you like to get as SWAG? Remember, it's a large conference and I gotta order like 3000 of whatever, so as much as I want to do plasma screens I think my budget is much less :)

Let me know in your comments, or email me - I'd love to hear what the best SWAG you got at a conference was, and if you have any ideas for give aways! I did the mini-remote control cars at the last PDC, and want to do something fun and new at Tech Ed.

regards

Hari "the swag guy" Sekhar :)

I would have left comments on the actual post, but anonymous posting is turned off and there appears to be nowhere to register. (I am running Community Server on my own site which is why I think that is likely the issue).

Anyway, as for swag, my favorite is a bookbag style laptop bag. I swapped to this one immediately. The pocket placement for bulky cables is better (rather than trying to squish them flat against the laptop) and it fits my widescreen better. It also has a built in mps player pouch with headphone opening. Granted, this could easily go outside of the realm of your budget with 3000 units too.

Other suggestions are USB sticks, stylus/pen combos, the mandatory t-shirt but funk it up a little, or even el-cheapie digital cameras. The cameras would be great because anyone who has forgotten to bring a camera or has run out of traditional film can use it right there.

You can also incorporate something Florada-ish since many may not be coming from quite so warm a climate, although not likely a large population from up here in Canada. Shorts or sunglasses might fit into this category.

There is also the catering to the target with geek-toys. Who doesn't love a rubik's cube? And you could replace the colors with product logos. You are probably pretty safe with any of the items on www.thinkgeek.com. The Cubes playsets seem to be popular and with that kind of volume you might be able to get a custom one from the manufacturer!

Yeah, The Cubes - TechEd 05 special edition! I think we have a winner!
