My name is Harish Kantamneni. I am a developer at Microsoft and work for Erik Meijer of the LINQ fame. This is my first real attempt at blogging. I had created this blog site several years ago, but have always been lazy to write a blog. Now that I have started writing, this is more fun than it seems.

I am currently working on Erik's team on some very exciting technology (Microsoft Live Labs Volta) and we just shipped our first ever technology preview today (http://labs.live.com/volta/) and wanted to blog about it. Volta extends Visual Studio 2008 to make multi-tier application development very trivial; it takes out the complexity of dealing with tiers both away from developers and from the application code by letting the tools handle this complexity. This enable developers to focus on the core functionality of their apps and also at the same time makes the application code less complex and more maintainable.

For more details on how to install and play around with Volta, you can go to http://labs.live.com/volta. Additionally, Wes has posted a blog with more details on web application development with Volta.

Going forward, I will be blogging periodically on the various exciting aspects of Volta. So stay tuned!
