This document contains general guidelines for using the BloodOxygenSaturation data type. It does not cover all the information that is stored in the type – see the BloodOxygenSaturation documentation for more information.

This type is intended primarily for devices that measure blood oxygen saturation levels in non-clinical settings. Clinical systems that record multiple readings should use the VitalSigns data type.

The value of the measurement is stored in the Value property. The percentage is stored as a floating-point number between 0 and 1.

The MeasurementMethod property stores the method used to measure the blood oxygen saturation.

The MeasurementFlags property is used to store additional information about the measurement.
