I think that relating to N/S/E/W is a gender thing. I have read that women do better navigating by place names and landmarks while men do better with the N/S/E/W directions. I'd get lost going home if I had to figure out a map to get there.

And the age thing? You go girl!

Dang it, I was just trying to go home. I do love that clarinet story, hopefully someone's going to nab that and stick it into a script. My question is this, did your parents think you would amount to anything with all this cheating and obsession with nostrils? I guess they can be proud now, right?

I didn't think of writing the notes down as cheating. I was trying not to be a quitter. What else can you do if you can't read music. It wasn't something learnable. I understood the concept, I just couldn't do it. Some people just can't.

And yes, they are very, very proud.

Funny, you used to live in PA and I used to live in WA. Now you live in WA and I live in PA. Ironically, I also played the clarinet (also the violin), but never could read music!

Grey hair ... I would have never in my wildest dreams (no pun intended) figured that out.

First of all, I'm glad you made it through the storm/power outage ok. I ended up going to a friends house in Bothel and stayed there for a few days.

Secondly, I had the same problem reading music. I played the bass for a year without even knowing what I was doing and eventually got tired of the whole thing. My teacher would tell me how great I was doing and I couldn't bare to tell her. It eludes me to this day [as well as skating backwards].

I hope you have a great holiday! If you find yourself in need of some "retail therapy", you should stop by the store this week, we're having a huge sale. There is a possibility that I may actually be there this time :]
