If you go to http://winqual.microsoft.com, my group is responsible for it. Every time you see a peripheral with Windows logo on it, I was part of it.

It is a great team, but this is the time for me to find another challenge, I will still be working with Microsoft, I love this company, I met some of the smartest, passionate, friendliest, and geekiest people. :)

With all of the challenges of a big company, this group put customer at a high priority, it may not be perfect, but we have been trying to be better. I have the privilege of seeing the effort to make sure the end-users have good experiences with their system/peripherals.

As you already aware, there are a lot of hardware for Windows, so many choices, it is a difficult thing to make sure that all will work for Windows, a bad peripheral can break a Windows user's experience. We worked with a lot of hardware vendors to build good drivers for their system/peripherals.

To have a good experience with Windows, get quality peripherals, look for a Windows logo on the box. :)

Tintin, the movie

I just read that DreamWorks is making a movie about Tintin. Tintin was and is my hero. Grew up with European comic books, I really miss a lot of comic books that I read when I was kid. To name a some, Tintin, Asterisk, Lucky Luke, Smurf, Johan and Pirlouit, Steven Strong (Benoit Brisefer), RedBeard (Barbe-Rouge), Arad and Maya, Yoko Tsuno, Trigan, Storm, Valhalla, etc. I am kind of excited with the movie, hopefully it will be good.

European and Japanese comics are so different than the American comics, I am trying to recollect things that matter to me most when I was a little kid. I have Asterisk, Tintin, Kobo Chan, in my collection, I do not have much success with other comics. If you know how to get those comics with reasonable prices here in US, in English, of course, please let me know. :)

A Welcomed Change of UI

Finally I had some time to install Office 2007 at home. My wife surprised me when she told me that she likes the new UI a lot.

Usually I was the help desk for my family, my wife was able to do a lot of things with Office 2007 and it's new UI, without my help. I am sure this experience is not unique.

Halo World!

I had a refreshing two weeks of vacation visiting a relative in Europe. It was very nice visiting several countries in Europe (Germany, Belgium, Netherlands, France, and Italy). Yes, it was a full packed vacation with activities, but yet it was relaxing.

Euro is cool, I don't have to exchange currency all the time, but Europe is expensive for me. In Paris, I bought two cups of tall mocha from Starbucks, and it cost me around 8 Euro (About 10 USD), I would have paid only about $5 in US. I also experienced the fastest ride in my life. Cars ran 160-180 Km/hour, about 115-125 MPH.

I am really glad that finally I could have a complete set of Tintin comic books. I grew up with European graphics comic books. Too bad I could not find other comics that I enjoyed when I was little (Smurf, Johan and Pirlouit, Steven Strong, Red Beard, Tanguy and Laverdure, Yoko Tsuno, Trigan, Storm).

Well, I am ready to go back to work! :)
