The KB article says that you have the Preview version installed if Help shows version number 11.6250.6250

Is this correct ?

My version says 11.6250.6350

i.e. a later version number. How can I be later than Preview ?

[I don't remember if I installed Preview or not. I guess I did and the KB article should read 11.6250.6350 and not (last part) 6250]

Hi Mike,
Are you sure that the version number was 11.6250.6350? The 6250 part of the number identifies the InfoPath.EXE version. The 6350 part of the number should identify the version of MSO.DLL that get installed. Unless you have a beta of another version of a Microsoft product that uses MSO.DLL, I don't know why you would have version 6350.

You may have 11.6250.6360. If you do, that means that the Office SP1 update got installed (and the version of MSO.DLL updated to 6360) but that the Preview version of InfoPath.EXE is still installed. If this is the case, go to the Control panel and uninstall the standalone Infopath Preview. Then you can go to Office Professional Enterprise in the control panel and add InfoPath back in.

If you don't have Office Professional Enterpise, the sku that includes InfoPath, you will have to re-install your original standalone InfoPath and then re-run the Office SP1 patch to get the SP1 version of InfoPath.

I'm on another machine now but I did check that number several times before I posted.

I haven't installed Office SP1 but I have installed OneNote SP1 before I checked the InfoPath version. (and various betas at various times ..)

I was really only trying to warn you of a possible error in the KB article. Now it seems it's not an error but maybe you should cover there other 6250.nnnn possibilities too.

For me the knowledge that the first 6250 indicates Preview version is enough and I will now remove it first before starting again.
