Who Am I?...

Hi, my name's James and I work for Microsoft UK, based from our Manchester office. I have been working at Microsoft for over seven years, initially joining the Exchange support team at Microsoft UK's Reading HQ and then moving over to the ROSS (Rapid Onsite Support Services) team, when it was first created in the EMEA region in March 2003, part of Microsoft Services. During this time, I have travelled all over the continent and have worked on nearly 200 different customer issues, ranging from implementation problems to critical situations. My current role, as a Technical Lead in the Microsoft Partner Programme allows me to take my experiences and help our Partners help their customers. My technological areas of interest include Exchange storage theory and design, OWA, migration and clustering.

Blogging Using Microsoft Word 2007

I am testing the new blogging feature in Word 2007. It is pretty easy to set up (and always helps if you read things properly before you get frustrated!!!!)

The way I did it was a follows.

  1. Fire up Microsoft Word 2007
  2. Click on the Office Button. Select New and then Blog Post and then click Create
  3. When you are asked to register, click register later
  4. Type your blog and hit Publish
  5. If you are posting to MSDN, you need to select Community Server from the list. Enter blogs.msdn.com and then enter your username and password

That's it! Really simple and straightforward.
