&lt;p&gt;It's a real test of &amp;nbsp;an MSPs commitment to their customers, as they will have to undertake customisation and testing prior to release to the end user. &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;If they don't do this especially with the plethora of homebrew ROMs out there it's going to throw the whole licensing model into the spotlight again.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Interesting that HTC are providing the ROM updates free, it does beg the question whether customers with rebadged HTC devices are within their rights to upgrade to WM6.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;mine detector anyone?&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;However; Theres also a brilliant marketting strategy here; customers are far more likely to buy replacement products from HTC (perhaps even instead of from networks) if they believe that they are going to get this kind of support from them in future. But i dont think the networks are going to complain. Each of these phones sold makes a massive loss. its only the high price data plans that allow them to recoup this.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;result; everybody wins!&lt;/p&gt;
