It is a fantastic device where PDA meets phone and phone meets PDA. Palm have come up trumps on the functionality and quality of the device. Sure Wifi support would be good but many people would not fully utilise the added feature. and accidentally leave on and drain the battery.
With HSDPA on the cards this more than compensates for the lack of Wifi for the time being. If your customers/users ever doubted the Pocket PC form factor because of the usability from a phone perspective...this answers your prayers!

re: PALM TREO 750V REview

Another one in, almost, total agreement. I have been using this device for about a month and I wouldn't swap it back for any of the (many) other WM5, Palm, Symbian devices I have. Phone reception, call quality, volume, usage etc is far better than experienced before.

The battery life is fine, especially if you only use 3G when needed (I switch my device to GSM most of the time). It's very responsive and the keyboard can be used to shortcut to many items rather than scrolling them (Windows, 'M' - messaging etc)

The lack of Wi-FI is no problem - I don't miss it at all. Once the software upgrade to HSDPA comes this will be even less of a problem for many.

I'd say the 240x240 screen is a slight annoyance if browsing a lot as it requires more scrolling. In addition, with a few items activated on the Today screen it can fill the display very quickly.

However, all in all a great device

re: PALM TREO 750V REview

It looks pretty good.

Does it have flight mode?
you're spot on with your comments! i love this device!

just one thing, and i know you are a BMW Bluetooth expert (!!) have you managed to sync the contacts up yet with your Bluetooth kit?? all the other WM5 devices show the contacts just fine, but this unit only shows 'no contacts'........it's a compromise but it would send the device to 99.99999% perfect !!!

regards

I am a serial windows phone user in both the smartphone and PPC variety and I cant believe how this ticks so many boxes.

Weight is OK

Build Quality is awesome

Size is nice. Its the same size as a Tytn but feels half due to its shape

Camera pictures are better than Tytn despite less resolution

Phone is great

Keyboard is pretty accurate

One handed operation has been thought out.

One gripe is that it doesnt have a mini usb charger connector but I can live with that. I will buy some more chargers!

If you are considering a qwerty device then this cannot be beaten. I have not tried a Q but I have had a Samsung I320.
