It allows me to keep all my Laptops, PCs and Mobile Devices in Sync.

The Live Mesh team has just released a number of updates for the Mobile, Mac and Desktop clients. You will automatically be prompted to install these updates next time you login.

The updates provide some performance and reliability enhancements.

The latest versions are:

* Live Mesh for Mac: 0.9.3602.818

* Live Mesh for Mobile: 0.9.3424.9

* Live Desktop: 0.9.3424.9

Not the most compelling of product names but Communicator Mobile 2007 R2 is almost due to be released to customers.

The original Communicator Mobile client allowed you to interact through IM and presence with your co-workers and any organisation or public service with which you were federated. The Communicator Mobile 2007 R2 client extends this capability to provide a much richer experience for voice.

Some of the key features include:

1) Call Handling Setup

You can use the Communicator Mobile client to configure routing rules for incoming calls to your OCS telephone number. You can direct those calls to your mobile, hotel phone or even home phone.

2) Single Number Reach

This is the killer feature for organisations looking to save money in these difficult economic times. Single Number Reach will allow you to places calls from your Mobile device however instead of an outbound call from your mobile they will be originated from the OCS server not your mobile phone. What effectively happens is that Communicator Mobile uses your data connection to request your OCS Server to place two calls – one to you and the other to the recipient. These are then connected together.

This has 2 major benefits in that the recipient only sees your Company telephone number (not your mobile) – great for preserving the one number approach and secondly you only pay for a local call (if at all) rather than international rates.

There are also additional improvments around battery life and performance however IMHO these are the key features!

You can get more information from the Communicator team HERE

GPS.SOS - Don't Panic

<img style="border-bottom: 0px;
Sony Ericsson announced details of this yesterday and with it you can:

Get an entirely new visual representation of friends’ statuses

Simple and fast upload of photos to Facebook

Easy access to Facebook friends list and phone numbers, with click to call capabilities

The Windows Live Panel allows you to see your Messenger contacts as well as your Hotmail/Live mail on your device.

Last but certainly not least is the Dashwire panel which gives you access to your stored information that Dashwire has sync'd to the cloud including your Photos, contacts, text messages and other items!

When your Calendar is Busy, it will turn ON. When it is free, tentative or Out Of Office, Auto Reply will turn off. Of course you can also override it and manually control Auto Reply if you wish to.

Fake Call v1.1 adds support for playing voice clips after a call has been "answered". This makes the fake call more believable in quiet environments. To people around you, it will actually sound like someone is speaking on the other end of the line. And the voice only begins playing about 3 seconds after you've answered the call, thus giving you time to say "Hello....". Try the latest version to see what I mean.

Live Mesh for Windows Mobile

<img title="image" style="border-right: 0px;

Announced this week at PDC was the Windows Mobile Live Mesh client. If you aren’t familiar with Live Mesh then you are probably missing out on one of the coolest pieces of Microsoft technology in a long long time!

Live Mesh is a software as a service platform that enables PCs and other devices to connect with each other through the internet.

This includes PC’s, Mac’s and now Windows Mobile devices too!

Currently Live Mesh for mobile devices is provided only on a limited basis in the US and UK. The Live Mesh Client for Windows Mobile can be downloaded from HERE

Come on – admit it – we’ve all been there – stuck in a dull meeting just hoping someone ‘important’ would call to help you escape the monotony…..

Well the guys who wrote PowerSMS have come up with a great solution called Fake Call… it’s in Beta right now but will allow you to setup a ‘Fake Call’ from that important person!

You can download the Beta version now from HERE

Mobile Geo – Sat Nav for the Visually Impaired/Blind

One of my colleagues who is blind forwarded me this solution which provides a Satellite Navigation solution for the visually impaired/blind.

With Mobile Geo, you can pinpoint your location, learn about the points of interest (POIs) in your immediate vicinity, plan a route between specified points of origin and destination, and get instructions on maneuvers to make as well as information about waypoints along a route that you are following. However, Mobile Geo by no means replaces a cane or dog guide, and use of this product when traveling independently is recommended only when the blind user has received training in the skills of orientation and mobility.

Mobile Geo is seamlessly integrated with Code Factory’s popular screen readers – Mobile Speak for Pocket PCs and Mobile Speak for Windows Mobile Smartphones .

You can get more information on their solution HERE

Phone Recovery

Faber Nitor have released a solution for Windows Mobile that if you have your phone stolen it will automatically send you the thief’s mobile phone number and SIM card ID when they try and use the phone with their SIM card!

It does this by automatically recognising that an authorised SIM has been placed in the device and it then sends the information to an alternative mobile phone number you place in the application.

You can also send a Text to Lock your Phone and send a message to the person who ‘found it’ (or stole it)

You can get more details on their solution HERE
