Iliciting suggestions for content/functionality for your theoretical internal developer portal

Ok..let’s get theoretical for a while. Let’s say MS Australia could provide your company with an out of the box portal solution, something like the DotNetNuke CMS (article on same here) or SharePoint Team Services.

And let’s say we could provide certain local feeds into the system, like Australian related developer news, MS Australia announcements, RSS feeds for MSDN content like product news and release bulletins. Apart from the MS related content, the portal was available to your companies developer community to say post code snippets, discuss current projects, share ideas, collaborate, customise, personalise and have general Q&A around MS technologies.

Would this be useful? Do you already have something similar?

Let’s say this would be useful but still lacked functionality, what additional things would you like to see us provide for your internal community of developers?

I’m really interested in your feedback on this as I think it could be a great way to get more clear and timely information into your organizations. By organization I am referring to an Enterprise of 250 or more people with an application development/integration department, a development practice within a consulting organization, or a software company developing products for resale (ISV).

Let’s discuss…

I'd like the ability to annotate the existing MSDN documentation, so I could point out subtleties in certain BCL classes or provide extra sample code to my coworkers. The ability to integrate documentation for internal modules would be convenient too.
