.NET Framework 2.0 Wins JOLT Best Framework Award

The 16th annual JOLT awards were held last night.  Microsoft did quite well this year:

  •        VS Team System winning a productivity award in the Enterprise Project Management category
  •        VS Team System winning the Jolt award in the overall Development category
  •        .NET Framework 2.0 winning the Jolt award in the Frameworks and runtimes category
  •        SQL Server 2005 winning the Jolt award in the Database category
  •        VS Professional 2005 winning the Hall of Fame award for continued industry leadership

And finally congratulations to Brad Abrams and Krzysztof Cwalina for winning the Software Development productivity award in the Technical Books category for Framework Design Guidelines.

Very cool!

VisualStudio hasn't been leading the industry for about 5 years.  It's looking very ancient now compared to even free Java IDEs and IntellJ whips it's ass.
