I feel very strongly about this, having experienced the plethora of deprecated crap in the Java APIs.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;I would have prefered the major version number to indicate a break in backwards compatibility. ie. 2.0 is not backwards compatible with 1.1, but 1.1 is backwards compatible with 1.0.
