The Podcasting Equipment Has Arrived...
Recently, a few friends and I have decided to jump head-first into podcasting. (More on this in a later post.) With the growing popularity of this medium, we figured it was a good time to try it out ourselves. Armed with the willingness to make mistakes, the next step was to purchase some equipment. After a few discussions with Richard Campbell, Dan Sellers and I went ahead and ordered our podcasting gear. Here's what we bought:
- (1) Alesis Multimix8 USB mixer
- (1) Behringer HPX 2000 headphones
- (2) Audio-Technica AT2020 cardoid condenser microphones
- (2) On-Stage desk microphone stands
- (2) Shure pop filters
- (2) 5' mic cables
The setup is tight and required very little preparation - especially the Alesis Multimix8 USB mixer, which works seemlessly with Windows XP. And the audio quality? Excellent; couldn't be better.
The next step from here is experimentation, with the goal of having some sembalance of a podcast up & running in the next few weeks.
Many thanks to Richard for helping Dan and I figure out what we needed. (Please bare with us. We're new to this.)
