The demo was wicked. I am curious about the flyover gig, was the put together in your code or was it a component from the sat image vendor?

The flyover was 100% Keyhole functionality. I'm working with them on delivering their software as Longhorn-optimized components. But today, they sell a standalone Windows application.

Carter: Don't worry about keeping up, worry about quality. Give us the background details that were left out of the presentation for simplicity (e.g. the "node-invariant" Indigo functionality you mentioned in Scoble's comments that could be enabled in your demo for data redundancy), start a conversation through you blog posts about your thoughts for demos, and get feedback about your products to make future demos even better. Not all blogs need to be about quantity; Even Scoble is starting to realize that his signal/noise ratio was a little low.

I'm not a Windows developer and I don't believe in committing myself to one platform -- I have a Mac laptop, a Windows desktop and a BSD server. I still don't see why I should believe in Microsoft's vision for Longhorn or trust them to deliever a platform that won't tie me in to Microsoft for eternity. These demos can help me see the end-goal for Longhorn and might even help me trust Microsoft.

OK; I'll post with more details and discussion points - especially regarding Indigo since that's what excites me most about Longhorn. I too use Mac, Windows, and Linux at home - not because I don't believe in committing to Windows - but because it just happened that way (much like enterprises, my family had no master IT plan :) )

Excelent video, congratulations.
I like a demo a lot when you show it in LA during the PDC but the comments on the video add a lot of value over it.

I am most interested in seeing the source for the demo. No harm in releasing a subset of it. I am mostly interested in the XAML code, or rather the UI code. The keyhold stuff (though cool) can be stripped out.
