When will this connector be a 'standard part of Team Foundation Server? This looks like a major missing link in the project management process.

As I mentiond in the original post (http://blogs.msdn.com/jeffbe/archive/2007/06/11/project-server-2007-connector-available.aspx) we expect to bake this support into TFS Rosario. Until then, this is your best alternative for Project Server integration.
