Ramblings of a Lazy Coder

First Post!

Sorry, couldn't resist the temptation of using one of the most popular 'internet memes' for my augurational post.

ontopic: Who am I and what is this blog about?

My name is Jeffrey van Gogh and I'm a developer here at Microsoft. I work in the "DP Languages Team" for Erik Meijer. Our team is tasked with coming up with developer language features & tooling to make data more accessible to developers Currently I'm working on tooling to make data access across multiple tiers a lot easier for C# and VB developers. ("Democratizing the Cloud"). Expect news about these tools in the near future. Through this blog I hope to shed some light on these tools as well as receive your feedback on them.

Why the title of my blog? Much to often, existing programming languages and tooling leave the developer too much plumbing. The goal of our team is facilitate the lazy coder, a developer should only need to write what is absolutely necessary. Accidental complexity should be left to tooling.

Hope to see you back here soon!

Jeffrey
