Generic shortcut mechanism, MSDN Deskbar version
Once the MSDN Deskbar came out, it seemed I should take my generic shortcut mechanism for the Google Deskbar and port it. In the spirit of Simon’s MSDN Deskbar Clip, I did so. Now, I type “g l Boston, MA” into the MSDN Deskbar for a MapPoint lookup, “g m jeromyc,test” to create a new email, etc. Now handling is done by an .exe, rather than a local web server – much faster and easier to deploy/maintain, actually.
