Don Box gave a great channel 9 interview on how to give a technical presentation.  11 min and 30 seconds into the talk, Don had me breaking into a fit of giggles when he professed his love for Lucida Console 14.

"If you're going to give a technical talk there is going to be code.  The code needs to be readable.  And there are two things that happen.  One is people choose the wrong font.  The right font if you are on Windows is Lucida Console at least 14.  14 is usually the optimal size depending on the resolution, maybe you go to 18.  Never less than 14.  Lucida Console 14 is this magical font, that Lucida 13 - (hand wave gesture) - useless font. Lucida 10 (more hand wave gestures) - useless font!  ... but at 14 that's just the sweet spot because it becomes so legible and it just *stands* out.  It's a fixed width font so you don't have all the crazy tab/space issues. But my g*d it's just so beautiful.  The first time I found that it was like NT 4 I think - I just switched and that was like the only font I used." - Don Box, What goes into a great technical presentation?

I just stumbled across a download for a brand new font that has been specifically designed for displaying code.  The "Consolas" font can be downloaded to improve the readability of your code Visual Studio 2005.

After installing, I swapped quickly between the three major code fonts (Courier New, Lucida Console, and Consolas) and took a comparison shot:

I quickly noticed that in my comparison - I had broken Don's cardinal rule - thou shalt not show Lucida Console in a font lower than 14. So here it is:
