Scenario and Feature Frame

A Scenario and Feature Frame is a matrix that shows incremental value and dependencies.  It's a simple way to show management your baseline release, your nice to have scenarios, and your vNext planning.  It's also a great way for your development team to see how their effort fits into the big picture, as well as recognize any dangerous cross-dependencies.

Thanks.  Unfortunately I don't have a template at this time.   The good news is, you can use create a quick matrix like this:

1. On one worksheet, list all your key scenarios.  These should be your high-level, outcomes.  

2. Next, add the detailed scenarios that support them.  

3.  Add the features across the top that support the scenarios.

4. On another sheet, list the key scenarios that are most important.  You are basically cherry picking the scenarios you'll deliver.

5. Add dates along the top row and mark an X for when each scenario is due.

What you end up with is a detailed sheet with the scenarios, sub-scenarios, and features.   You also end up with a quick sheet of scenarios against time (this is your flow of incremental value).
