Rock Star Coder - The Coding Contest is Here
The third round of the world famous JobsBlog coding exercise officially starts now. For those of you who aren’t familiar with how things work around here, I’ll review:
We don’t care where you live, where you went to school, or what your resume looks like; this contest is all about your core smarts. The latest twist in this round is that the creator of the problem and final judge of the entries is our now our famous JobsBlog “Master Coder”, Luan. If he chooses your code as the winner, you will join in the ranks of the JobsBlog Hall-of-Fame.
And there is only one rule: Don’t cheat. Each round we experience cheaters, and we don’t look fondly on them. I’m not going to review all of the variations of cheating that have been tried, but will just remind you that if you cheat you will be punished. Don’t do it.
Here's how it works:
- When you are ready and have a full hour to dedicate to the contest, send your resume to imacoder@microsoft.com with the words “Rock Star Coder” in the subject line.
- You will get an auto-response with the coding exercise included, and you will have 1 hour maximum to complete it.
- Do not send your resume before you are ready to start. When your email is sent, the clock starts ticking.
- When you are finished, send the coding exercise back to imacoder@microsoft.com.
Failure to follow the above disqualifies you. The tiebreaker is determined by “time,” so while I encourage you not to rush and sacrifice the quality, you should feel free to send it back early if finished.
The contest closes on February 26th and we will announce the winner shortly afterwards.
Good Luck Everyone!
- Jenna
