What does relocation generally cover?
Dear JobsBlog: I'm applying to jobs outside my local area, and I'm really interested in some of Microsoft's Redmond positions. Of course if I got the job, I'd have to move. Are Microsoft’s relocation benefits pretty thorough? What do they generally cover?
From my experience, I think Microsoft has incredible relocation benefits, and we try to give you many different options. We know that moving - whether it's 200 or 2000 miles away - can be stressful, but we have many great plans in motion to take away some of that stress.
Relocation packages can vary based on position or location, so be sure to ask your recruiter about specifics. But in general, at a basic level Microsoft can set up the entire move for you (shipping, packing, driving, etc). It's just that easy! We have a great company that we work with to ensure that you have a smooth transition and can start your new job without worrying about your move.
