I recently started my job search....I started by checking with my network contacts at companies I knew I wanted to possibly work for.  I then contacted recuriters that I knew as well.  After that was complete I updated my resume on dice and monster and opened my resume up for reading.  So far it's worked pretty well....14 different companies 32 interviews, 6 offers.

i went through web sites, and on campus events like career fairs, information centers, on campus interviews, etc. for microsoft i initially established a relationship by submitting for the scholarship, while I didnt get the scholarship I still got an interview out of it, so I recommend writing a good essay for people that want to get noticed. I used fortunes 100 best companies to work for list a lot as somewhat of a guide for some of the better places I applied to.

I ussually do the online thing.  It's worked out great in the past.  I always contact my friends and family, but I have yet to have a job fall in my lap.   I found a service that helped me out with battling the job boards and it worked out pretty well.  Its pretty straight forward and was a great tool for me.  http://www.gimmearaise.com

The first thing I do is decide what I want my next job to be, setting the objective for my job search. I make a list my priorities and requirements and try to map out a job search strategy that will result in me not only getting that job, but getting it under the best conditions.

I usually talk to the friends about job opportunities independently of my job status..

When I realised that I wanna change my job I'm going to professional social networks where my cv is posted and set my work status to "looking for a new job". After that - career sites of interesting for me companies + posting cv for interesting positions. And after that posting cv on the huntering web sites...

In most cases, the goal of our internship program is to offer full time positions (or possibly another internship if the student is not graduating) at the end!  We love to convert our interns whenever possible!
