Looking for my TechEd decks, and more...
My good friend Shane Young has put up my TechEd 2007 Orlando decks (Upgrade, Governance, Deployment and Planning part 1 & 2) on his blog. Man he's a funny guy. Just being around him makes me goofy. In fact the Paris Hilton joke wasn't planned, neither was him walking off the stage when I was talking about giving the developer the hand.
If you missed my presentations and want to find me, I'm going to be in KL, Malaysia for TechEd South East Asia (Sep 10-13). It was a blast last year and looking way forward to it this year. I'll also be presenting them at SharePoint Connections 2007 Fall in Vegas. Of course I'll be updating the slides and putting in more best practices as they become known. Andrew Connell will be there and current plans sound like I'll be co-presenting with Shane Young at this event, so you know that has to be good.
If you haven't perused Andrew's pictures from the Shuttle launch do that now. I was in a big group of SharePoint MVPs which after my governance session headed to the coast... Andrew summed it up best... "On Friday, after all the sessions were over, a handful of us headed over to the coast to watch the space shuttle launch at 7:37p. We had a great view positioned on the 528 causeway just east of Merrit Island. I just finished uploading a bunch of pictures from the launch to a new Flickr set... the last four pictures are from about 30-45 minutes after the launch looking north-west in the sky to see the smoke from the launch dissipating... very cool! I also uploaded a 4 minute video of the launch. If you crank up the volume, you'll hear the delayed sound from the launch around the 1:25-55 mark. First time I've seen a launch, and I can't wait to see another one!"
I do have to pitch the other TechEd item. The Governance checklist. If you don't care about Governance, replace the word Governance for Deployment and call it a Deployment checklist. I do think it's a must have. We gave out 2000 at the event, and I've been pinged by dozens wishing I had more they could give out to their companies, CEOs, CIOs, and SharePoint User groups. Sorry Stacy, I'm trying to get more printed...
