Migration Tools

Kimmo did a great presentation of his upgrade tools here at TechReady 5 an internal only event.  There isn't anything in the release folder, but he has been checking in code on the workspace.

http://www.codeplex.com/SPMigration/SourceControl/ListDownloadableCommits.aspx

I know he's looking for people to validate and help build out the tools which will help you migrate from WSS and SPS/MOSS in 1.0/2001 and 2.0/2003 to 3.0/2007.

Migration Workspace

The other migration effort that is heavily focused on Notes/Domino and Exchange environments including File Shares and Public Folders (work in progress) is: Resources for Moving to the Microsoft Collaboration Platform including the Collab strategy page with links to more resources.

You'll find a number of good resources, but you'll have to dig around a little.

Migration Resources

Find information to help you plan for and implement a migration from Lotus Domino to Exchange Server and SharePoint.

Tools:

new Transporter Suite 2007 for Lotus Domino Demo: Application Data Migration shows how to use the Microsoft Transporter Suite 2007 for Lotus Domino to transfer application data to Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007.

new Project Tracking Application Template Comparison Democompares the out-of-the-box project tracking template applications from Lotus Domino and Microsoft Windows SharePoint Services 3.0, and shows how the integrated platform of SharePoint and Microsoft Office can create a more streamlined project management process.

You may want to ping Kimmo.  I think you can contact him via the migration workspace on codeplex.  He does have contacts that I believe have been working on the eroom one for this...  May already exist.

Joel, do you have any information on how Notes email (not Domino) can work with MOSS 2007?

    John,

Notes email can be used to receive alerts, used in workflows, etc...

Where exchange would give you something extra is in the my site inbox and calendar web parts to show a quick view.  It's possible there are partners that build this for Notes.

The other one I think of is managed folders that's an exchange only thing, but even email enabled lists could be done without Exchange... but it would need AD.
