E-commerce guys like myself use blog spam to track emerging niches on the web. I linked above to a new spam magnet blog I put up so you can see what I mean.

Sure, the poker bots, viagra, and all that junk gets a bit tired, but you either find high-profit products, or more importantly you can find niches where the spammer has a good product but doesn't know anything about marketing.

In one particular case I outranked a golf training aid manufacturer for their own product. They ended up leaving the Internet and went straight-ebay, leaving me their niche.

So I suppose it depends on your business. Try to be like the Indians with the buffalo. Even something lousy like blog spam can be used for the forces of good (at least my own good) : )
