As I discovered recently, the hotfix mentioned in KB article 944390, applies only to SQL Server 2008 (and no y ou cannot apply this SQL Server 2008 hotfix to a SQL Server 2005 installation :) ). For SQL Server 2005 there is currently no hotfix provided
