There's a Vista stability patch that is not available on Windows Update

Found a Vista patch that “improves the compatibility, reliability, and stability of Windows Vista”.

Well, actually, my machine found it through “problem reports and solutions” (great Vista feature) after it crashed  J

 

An update is available that improves the compatibility, reliability, and stability of Windows Vista

 

I have no idea why this update is not available as an option on Windows Update.

You might want to download it anyway to improve your “user experience”.

 

And a colleague of mine has pointed me towards:

Cumulative update rollup for USB core components in Windows Vista

 

I'll have a look around for more...

Actually these patches (and another 2) are approx 3 weeks old already. The stability patch has caused booting problems to many who applied them, so you might want to wait until the patch is actually on WU.
