Revenge of the Screw Cap
Of late, I've been sampling an increasing number of wines coming with screw tops. I have to say that screw tops are no longer the purview of cheap jug wine. At least not exclusively. No, as I sit here sipping a glass of La Vieille Ferme "Lasira" (75% Syrah, 25% Grenache, 0% Cork, according to the bottle), I have to think that the days of the cork are waning. Not only are corks expensive and prone to rotting, they're a bear to reseal compared with the venerable (if humble) screw top.
I love the Lasira. And it was cheap -- like $7.
