MSBuild and VS .NET 2003

A lot of people have asked about whether Microsoft will support MSBuild against the VS .NET 2003 version of the CLR. The answer is that we really, really want to but don’t think we have the resources to make it work right. If you have a dollar to spend then you want to use it was wisely as you can. It would take a large portion of our MSBuild dollar to get this working solidly and, if we did, other areas of MSBuild would have to suffer. Given this, I can respect the choice to invest in the future.

I know that some people in the community have tried to get this to work and have made some progress. If you’re one of those people and you’re stuck on a problem, why not post a question on this blog? I’ll help if I can.
