Developing a Live.com Gadget with IE7/Firefox Issue

Because IE7 and Firefox do not allow XmlHttp requests across trusted domains you will not be able to test your live.com gadgets from your local machine.  When you do try to add to live.com with localhost you will be redirected to live.com homepage without any error message.  If you try to add via IP then the "verifying feed...” and “checking for autodiscover tag...”  messages will appear, but it will still not be added.

You can either deploy to an internet facing website or use IE6 while developing.  If using IE6, make sure you add live.com to trusted site list.
