I've recently entered the world of digital SLR photography so I thought I best learn how to get the best from my investment. I booked on a 1 day seminar event hosted by Experience Seminars which was a really valuable day where I learned plenty about exposure, white balance and some of the features specific to my Canon 30D.
Toward the end of the course was the topic of colour management and we were reminded that you should calibrate your monitor (which something which I have long forgotten) . There's plenty of great information on the Windows Image Color Management website if you want the low down on how Windows manages this. You can access Windows Vista's Color Management settings in Control Panel
So, I need to calibrate my monitor once a month and make sure that I edit my images in a blacked out room (next time you are at your computer, open up an image, have a look at it, turn of the lights and then see how much more vivid the colours are. I think I need one of these!
