Same job, new role
After two years of working as the Setup and Communities PM on the Windows SDK, I'm switching over to a new role within my same team. I'm now taking on a whole set of new tasks:
- Online release notes
- Offline release notes
- Vista logo compliance
- APIScan
- Headers & libs
- SWI for headers & libs
- Identifying and tracking new headers & libs in the OS
- The Windows SDK's presence in the MSDN DevCenter
This might seem like a lot of disparate duties, but that's what will make the job fun and exciting for me. I'm really enjoying ramping up on the work - it's really fun taking on new challenges - but some of the scope of the tasks are a bit daunting. We have a SharePoint site that lists all the new Windows Vista APIs and contains over 8000 entries. It's hard to plan to manage a set of files that large, which can have issues or problems with each and every one of them.
