Microsoft Dynamics CRM
Use Sharepoint as the MSCRM Document store - Level 300

Sharepoint provides some really great document management and collaboration features that can be utilized for increasing team productivity in organizations. MSCRM provides the ability to attach notes to records, however it seems a natural combination to utilize Sharepoint to store documents related to MSCRM. For example, when creating an RFP for a new Account, why store the RFP as an attachment in MSCRM when it could be a Sharepoint document (or even document workspace), readily available over the intranet.

Here is a new HOL that takes the user through the process of setting up MSCRM to use Sharepoint to store documents.

Hi John.  I just setup this solution in my server.  It Works very fine when I work in the server.  But when I try to use the Upload.aspx in a Client Station I get the Error Cant Find the File in c:\Windows\system32\inetsrv\Myfile.doc

Of Course the file is not in this route and the server dont have permissions in this route.

How can I fix the ASP so it works with client computers?

Thanks for your Help.

Hi there:

Hmm, that's strange. Did you use the "Browse" button to find the file?

I'll see if I can test this later this week.

John.

Great article - really good idea.  What about though if instead of using a an addition SQL database to store the relationship for us we added a field to the document library in SharePoint and stored the OID of the CRM objec tin it.  we could then show a filtered list of the documentlibrary within the entity and only see the related documents.
