What's next for IE - wait IE is not really dead?!?
In my early days at an ISP in Utah many moons ago; we distributed everything you needed to get connected to the internet on a single 1.44MB diskette. Then in '95 we had to span it across (2) 1.44MB diskettes. Then in late '96 we switched browsers from Navigator and began giving everyone a CDROM with IE on it. This also required our users to have a CDROM - the only way we were able to support those who did not have CDROMs was to have them bring in their computers and we'd have a tech install it for them.
It's funny how cyclical life can be. Now many power users are raving about Firefox whose ancestral bloodlines began with Netscape Navigator. I have to admit I'm among that contingent.
To find out where things are headed, drive your browser over to the MS version of Slashdot. The direct link to the IE Wiki is here:

PS. And its only 4.7 MB!! Which sparked another thought for an article on application architecture and application design, but I'll mull it over more and post it another day. (yeah - I can admit I've made mistakes in the past and my wife would be quick to point out I'm sure to make many more... :/ )
