First solid state flash disk certified for Vista
Woot! Forget about 2020 like I was postulating in a recent post, solid state flash disks with high performance and low heat output are here today. This feels like an "ask and you shall receive" scenario that causes chills to run up and down your spine. I recall trying to run an ISP off of SCSI drives in the mid-90's and having to actually pull the drives out of the box and point AC units at them to keep them from overheating….
Check out the specs:
- Data read speeds of 57 MB/s
- Data write speeds of 32 MB/s
- Watt usage under full load: 0.9 watts (means very low heat output)
- Watt usage under idle: 0.05
