Atlanta User Groups

I am amazed at how some of the guys from the Atlanta C# and Atlanta .NET User Groups always seem to talk about various events going on around ATL, mostly in free user groups.  Here are a list of the Atlanta User Groups that I know about.  If you know of more, please let me know in comments.  For instance, I cannot find the PocketPC user group's information, and there used to be a BackOffice User Group that I cannot locate anymore.

You might as well scratch the Midas group.

Their next Meeting will be Dec 2, 2003.

I was at that meeting and it was great, but they haven't had any meetings since then.

There is also the Wireless Technology Forum here in Atlanta. Not necessarily a C# or .NET group in and of itself, but can be a valuable resource for people writing mobile apps in .NET. http://www.wirelesstechnologyforum.com/

Another great place to find out about Atlanta events is through Glenn Gordon's site:

Weird; we were just tonight talking about a need for such a list, so I quickly knocked this up:

Also here is a write up on the last PocketPC meeting (it is not a dev group):

The Atlanta .NET User Group - http://www.atlantadotnet.org/ does not appear to work any more.

I try to keep a listing of relevant user groups on our study group site. (see http://www.avbsg.net/DesktopDefault.aspx?tabindex=3&tabid=8). One you may want to add is the Saturday morning VB.Net study group (http://groups.yahoo.com/group/VBNetAtlanta/). Also, there is a Foxpro group at http://www.afug.com/Default.asp.

Paul, I tried your first dotnetworkaholics.com address and get a .Text error.

The MIDAS group is no more due to the fact that Extreme Logic was acquired by HP's Consulting and Integration group. And HP is not continuing MIDAS, which is to bad.

The one thing that I did notice is that the two of us are the only people in Atlanta for the Longhorn Meetup.

I propose we start an Atlanta Longhorn group. Anyone interested?

Jim: My Hosting provider must have been playing with something last night. I have two domains pointing at the same box ...workaholic and ..workaholics. Yesterday ...workaholic became the primary and .Text barfed. I fixed it last night and by this morning they had switched it back! It is a lesson learned, I'll try to set up .Text so it can handle either.
