Hotmail Now With POP3

Hotmail now supports POP3!

POP server: pop3.live.com (Port 995)
POP SSL required? Yes
User name: Your Windows Live ID, for example yourname@hotmail.com
Password: The password you usually use to sign in to Hotmail or Windows Live
SMTP server: smtp.live.com (Port 25 or 587)
Authentication required? Yes (this matches your POP username and password)
TLS/SSL required? Yes

This is cool because I can now get my email from your mobile phone.  You can also now write programs that leverage your Hotmail email inbox writing a POP3 client (a quick search for C# .net POP3 turns up several examples).

For more information, see the original post, “A new way to get Hotmail on your phone”.

That is cool!  I mainly use hotmail and it is nice now that I will be able to read my email from my cell phone too.
