legislation to close "analog loophole"

eHomeUpgrade has a write up about some legislation restricting the use of recorded analog brodcasts. Not sure how real this is, but sounds pretty frightening. I think this is all part of a massive conspiracy that tv and movie studios have put together in order to get everyone to read more books. ;-)

Fascinating. Normally I like the things that John Conyers does, but this one is pretty bad. This act says that a person who owns content has the right to say how long I have the right to keep it before viewing it. This directly affects Windows XP Media Center as well as competing products like Tivo.

I am very concerned by this legislation.
